⫸ Kadri Williams is a singer, producer, guitarist, bassist, and illustrator who has been experimenting with his sound and message of “radical vocalness, liberation, and the joy of being able to really explore your emotions and stories that are told thru music”. Williams began releasing music in 2018 online, both through Spotify and Soundcloud where he garnered over 1 million streams in just his first year!

⫸ Like many of us since the pandemic, Kadri has been working silently on a journey of reestablishing his principles, values, and sound in order to deliver a more intentional and true representation of his personal message. When asked about his style of music, he said he doesn’t connect to one genre but could say he’s been heavily inspired by listening to his father’s soul records with his family as a child, and the virtual world of anime, sega dreamcast, and Sonic the Hedgehog video game which iconically covers many genres, including electronic, pop, funk, rock, hip hop and orchestral.

✧ ABOUT S+L ✧

Sound + Liberation is a FREE live performance series that encourages a more involved and intimate experience with an intentional transfer of energy between the artist and their audience. Williams will guide viewers through his artistic process and share his thoughts on utilizing music as a mechanism for self-expression and liberation!

⫸ We can’t wait to see you all Next Friday virtually or in-person as Kadri Williams invites us “into his room” as he shares new and unreleased music, from the archives. Doors open at 6:30, show starts at 7pm.

SOFT U: part 1

The HSCC + Alan Lili come together with intention once again to curate the cozy, therapeutic, and intimate atmosphere that is Soft U. This acoustic performance will be graciously hosted by our friends at Libelula Books in Barrio Logan.

Art is a personal, communal, and universal mechanism for healing. Soft U is an IG live concert and community art talk that gives the viewer an opportunity to connect with local musicians. Join us as Alan curates and hosts an evening of live music from local artists as they personally guides us through their artistic process and thoughts on music as a mechanism for healing.

We look forward to sharing stories and giving our Live viewers a raw, vulnerable, and inspirational experience with Soft U.

Alan Lili and friends perform live in an intimate gathering celebrating life, art, and music at The Department in City Heights. (10/14/21)
