Remembering Alfred Olango
October 2016
El Cajon, California
El Cajon resident Alfred Olango was shot and killed on September 27, 2016. His sister had called and asked for mental health assistance after her brother was having a breakdown. Mental health clinicians were not available so instead they sent out police. While Alfred was having his mental health breakdown, clearly in pain, Officer Richard Gonsalves felt threatened because he had a vaping device in his hand and shot him four times.
San Diego county district attorney Bonnie Dumanis cleared the cop that shot Alfred and said it was justified so to this day no charges no arrests and the community still remembers and mourns for #alfredolango four years later.
